All About Beer Poisoning
Alcohol poisoning or alcohol overdose are two terms used interchangeably, for a condition in which an individual experiences intoxication due to excess consumption of alcohol. If the alcohol that has been consumed rises above the normal level of blood in a person, it may result in a number of unpleasant symptoms and in some cases, serious consequences.
The condition of alcohol poisoning is a life threatening one, which basically takes place once a person has, drank much more than the normal levels. There are a few other factors that may trigger the condition too, such as the metabolic rate of the person in question, as this too combined with the amount of alcohol can have a critical effect on the person’s well being.
Other such factors that have an effect are the time at which the drink was taken, the amount and its concentration. For instance, if the drink that is being consumed is not mixed with water or a soft drink, it will be too strong and may cause more problems for the person. However, the main cause still remains binge drinking, that is consuming more than five drinks at the same time.
The symptoms that may appear when alcohol poisoning has started to take place may make it easier for one to understand that treatment should be provided. However, keep in mind that not all these symptoms may be present; they may be present in a combination.

The person’s breathing rate may get declined along with a fall in body temperature. Moreover, one may feel severely ill, experience nausea and vomiting. He or she may become unable to speak, and due to severe dehydration that takes place the skin may become quite pale. Confusion is one symptom that may result in the person being unaware of where he or she is, what to speak and do. Unconsciousness may also occur.
Being confused and feeling dizzy are known as the classic symptoms of alcohol poisoning. The symptoms mentioned above may be quite mild in nature as compared to the more severe ones which occur when alcohol starts circulating throughout the whole body. These include seizures, inconsistency in behavior, breathing irregularities, absence of reflexes and slurred speech.
