In the past years OxyContin has become one of the most abused drugs in the country. It has become important to fight the addiction and do an Oxycontin Detox. With effective pain relief abilities and its similarity heroine, the overwhelming reports of OxyContin dependency has caused the healthcare experts and the FDA to think of a new way to package and market Oxycontin. Oxycontin was made and prescribed to help relieve pain for people who may need long-term pain aid.

Realize that not everyone that is depending on OxyContin is not always an addict. Sometimes people who are prescribed OxyContin as a drug to help ease pain resulting from injuries or related conditions. It is vital that once the person that is addicted to Oxycontin admits the abuse, that he or she immediately get help to detox from Oxycontin. The drug is extremely addicting and becomes habit forming without the person realizing. People who use the drug for pain medication can go through withdrawal and would need to take more Oxycontin to stop the withdrawals. Some people are afraid to tell their doctor they are abusing the drug, in fear the doctor will stop the prescription.

One of the leading addictions in the US is the use of drugs that are opiate based. Oxycontin is a widely used pain reliever that is addicting. The people who are addicted to Oxycontin are of all ages. The issue with Oxycontin detoxification is that it can be hard to detox from, and it has a decent amount of withdrawal symptoms. The best path of help can start with inpatient remedy.

Medication to help with the withdrawal symptoms is usually prescribed for an Oxycontin detox. A drug that is prescribed the most is buprenorphine. Taking this drug and following the instructions the doctor has given you will make your recovery come faster and safely.Detoxing from Oxycontin and breaking the addiction is well worth it, and it is a hard thing to do. It is an addictive and deadly drug, but there is help for people who are in misery and need to begin an Oxycontin detox. The first step find professional help to make sure your Oxycontin Detox is as easy as it can be. You shouldn’t let Oxycontin ruin your life. Because of its addictive relation to heroin, this pain drug is extremely dangerous. There are disputes that the drug should never be prescribed and that different ways of relieving pain should be made. When it comes to treating pain, Oxycontin is a good pain reliever if used correctly. When it is abused or used for a length of time, Oxycontin can start an addiction and put a person through physical addiction.

Treating a person for an Oxycontin addiction is similar to helping a person who has an heroin addiction. Withdrawal symptoms are often times extremely painful and the person can experience diarrhea, restlessness, and cramping. A lot of times, doctors who work with people who have Oxycontin addictions will decide to give them medication to make the detox process smooth. It is easy to find out if there are Oxycontin Treatment centers in your area. Oxycontin is becoming the most abused drug in the United States.

Oxycontin (Oxycodone HCI controlled-release) is the brand name that the drug goes by. Oxycontin was created to slowly release Oxycodone over a period of time, allowing people to only have to take it twice a day.

Oxycontin works by connecting to receptors in the brain called opioid receptors. Opioid receptors are found in the brain, spinal cord, and gastrointestinal tract. When the drug attaches to the opioid receptors in the brain and spinal cord they prevent the pain signals to be sent to the brain. Due to the potency of the drug, if a lot of oxycodone is released from the pill all at once, there is potential for a dangerous or fatal drug overdose.

from Alice Campbell

A cocaine addiction treatment is neither convenient nor easy. It is a very long process—in fact, winding, especially for those who don’t really get the much-needed help. What’s more, there will always be periods of withdrawal where the sufferer may feel of going back to the old ways. Cocaine can definitely affect the brain and the body, which makes it really hard to get rid of. Nevertheless, you have an option. You can go to a Florida cocaine rehab and be enrolled in a more holistic approach to healing.

The Process of Cocaine Addiction Treatment

It is very essential that the cocaine addiction treatment should cover all aspects of the sufferer. He doesn’t have to be treated emotionally alone, as cocaine can have a strong effect on the person’s body, particularly in his mind and nervous system. On the other hand, the program should not only focus on the physical aspect. He definitely needs as much support and emotional healing as he can possibly get.

Detoxification

The very first step for the cocaine addiction treatment is actually looking for a Florida cocaine rehab that offers a holistic program. This means that it doesn’t only have treatments and therapies for physical aspects, but for emotional, social, and intellectual aspects as well. Once you have already discovered the most ideal program for the sufferer, the very first step is then called medical detoxification.

What is medical detoxification? This is a crucial step where the patient will have to be completely unexposed to the cause of their addiction, which is cocaine. This is also commonly called withdrawal. Normally, a Florida cocaine rehab will have a supervisor or even a doctor to closely supervise and monitor the patient. After all, it’s during at this process that the urges to go back to the vice will start to kick in. It’s going to be a long fight, but if the sufferer can get through it, the rest of the program will go properly.

Physical Therapy

Cocaine can cause a lot of damage to a person’s body, and usually, this is one of the initial focus of a Florida cocaine rehab. The cocaine addiction treatment will then involve walking along the beach or the nature park, following a strict meal and exercise plan, constant meditating, or engaging in different kinds of sports.

Emotional Therapy

A cocaine addiction treatment should also include emotional and intellectual healing. You will be surprised to know that the common underlying causes for the addiction are normally depression, suffering, pain, and anger—all related to the emotional aspect of the person. Cocaine, moreover, has a definite way of destroying lives and relationships. With proper emotional and intellectual therapy, a patient will be able to get hold of the reality of the problem and get the needed support, which will allow him to go through a recovery period with his loved ones.

A Florida cocaine rehab may offer one-on-one counseling, mentoring, workshops, healing sessions, and group discussions. Families are also encouraged to participate.

from Debbie Allen

It’s nothing new that any alcohol rehab center is going to take and promise you the world and hopefully deliver the moon to you. The question you have to ask yourself though is if the alcohol rehab that you are looking into will actually get you over your addiction or is it just going to put a band-aid on a problem that is much deeper than they can assist with. It takes a specialized plan and personal approach to make any addiction treatment work properly!

Many people believe that they can simply use their willpower to fix their problems by just staying away from the temptation and looking the other way whenever someone offers them a drink. While this may work for a short time, you know that you’ll have to do more than that to get to the bottom of your problem.

First you should enroll in a program that is custom designed by experts and tailored to meet your needs and goals. You’ll also have to find somewhere that is uncompromising about your privacy. Having a problem is not something that needs to be broadcast to the world, so you’ll need to ensure that your goals and privacy are protected. You should surround yourself with world-class professionals as well! You deserve nothing but the best and you need to put yourself in a place to receive that care as well!

Individual service coupled with a service guarantee is two very easily overlooked attributes as well. You will need one on one attention to help you beat this addiction. It’s not over once the program is completed either, as you’ll need a great follow up system with your facility to make sure you are staying on the right path and continually moving forward. The last prospective quality you need to look into is the facility. Put yourself in a place where you can enjoy a fantastic view while taking advantage of personal trainers, massage, acupuncture, yoga and other forms of therapy as well. You will have a tough road ahead of you, so why not surround yourself with the best of everything!

Resources :

My name is Tegan Dawn, and I have been around addiction my entire life. If you find waking up everyday requires a drink to get going, and a drink to get you through, and if falling asleep at night depends on a night cap, you are addicted to alcohol. If you are fighting an alcohol addiction, you shouldn’t fight alone. Finding the right alcohol rehab Center to guide you through your addiction treatment is important to your recovery.

from Todd Lange

To administer the alcohol addiction treatment there are various number of ways. But the authentic treatment process at the rehabilitation center includes three main phases: such as the intervention phase, the detoxification phase and the aftercare phase.

Each phase of these three phases has certain significance. The first phase is the intervention phase. In this phase the person is told about seriousness of his or her alcoholism. This is like a preparatory phase where the person is explained and made to realize that they need a treatment for his or her condition. But this may be very difficult initially, because of denial which is the most obvious factors in the alcohol addiction treatment in Idaho. Hence the treatment providers take the help of families and friends of the patients to build a strong support and to motivate them to accept an addiction treatment.

After the intervention phase, they are taken for the detoxification phase. In this phase the patient will be medically cleansed of all alcohol accumulated in the body from a very long time. This process takes time, as there are various factors influencing it such as the length of patient’s addiction, their physical and psychiatric composition, whether or not they are on some other kinds of prescription drugs, etc. However, in some cases, the duration of alcohol detox is of about seven days but due to these factors it may increase.

The main aim of the detox program is to bring the patient out of the alcohol addiction in a complete manner. Hence the person’s body is cleansed completely out of the person’s system. It is not as simple because if the patient’s addiction is too much intensive. There are some bold steps taken, which means the patient will be isolated in a treatment setting where he or she will be made to completely abstain from alcohol. This helps to keep them away from all kinds of memories that might trigger a craving for alcohol in them. In such a setting the patient may take sometime to adjust. In this way the patient may experience withdrawal symptoms. This symptom can be seen usually within two to five days of the commencement of the abstinence but this again depends on the kind of addiction the patient has been in.

One of the difficult tasks in this is to remove the withdrawal symptoms from the person. But this does not seem to be an easy task. The patient needs to be put on specific medicinal therapies in order to make this happen.

Some of the patterns of medication are used in alcohol addiction treatment are:-

1.	Medications are provided n order to increase the hangovers that are produced due to alcohol addiction. Hence this will cause them psychologically free from the addiction because these symptoms are definitely quite inconvenient and uncomfortable. It is noticed that the hangover symptoms due to alcoholism are produced because of the release of acetaldehyde in the body. So any medication that will pump in more acetaldehyde into the body can be taken as a way of stopping the person from consuming more alcohol. Antabuse is the leading anti-alcoholism drug that has this effect. When consumed, it will produce an increase in the amount of acetaldehyde in the body and that will amplify the hangover. As a result, the person will not like alcohol quite as much.

2.	Another way of treating alcohol addiction is during the treatment is by providing with a drug that reduces their capacity of absorbing alcohol in the body. Because of which the person might consume alcohol may not feel any of its effects. After sometime, the person will give up alcohol in the absence of the effects that the substance must produce. This drug is called the Naltrexone.

3.	After these medications it is also important to normalize the condition of the patient’s nervous system once the alcoholic abstinence has begun. This is needed so that the person feels healthy once again and realizes that the removal of alcohol from their system can actually bring back good health unto them. A medication such as Campral helps to regularize the chemical reactions that take place in their body due to alcoholism. This is more of a stabilizing drug that allows the patient to plow on with the detoxification process.

These medications ensure that the person will stay out of the addiction for a long period of time. This can be possible through the aftercare program, which is followed after the successful detox treatment. However, there might be differences in the way the program is implemented in various centers across the state.

from A. Tom Horvath, Ph.D.

The reason almost all health insurance companies have stopped paying for residential addiction treatment is that the effectiveness of residential treatment and outpatient treatment has been compared many times, with no advantage being found for residential treatment. The July, 1986, issue of the American Psychologist contains the definitive article (by Miller & Hester) on this subject. Their article “reviews findings from 26 controlled studies, which have consistently shown no overall advantage for residential over nonresidential settings.” You might question whether a 1986 article would still be relevant this many years later. However, more recent evidence has not led to a different conclusion.

Yet residential treatment continues to be popular, if judged by the number of stories in the press about celebrities “going to rehab.” Miller and Hester suggest, however, that “it is recommended that 3rd-party reimbursement policy should (1) discourage the use of intensive residential models for addressing alcohol abuse when more cost-effective alternatives are available and (2) reinforce the use of research-supported treatment methods regardless of setting. It is noted that such policy priorities run directly counter to the current practices and financial interests of many for-profit providers.”

Miller and Hester clarify that even though residential treatment works no better than outpatient for clients who can afford it, for clients who cannot afford residential treatment (e.g., they are homeless), it is often better than outpatient. For this population residential treatment may provide the stability otherwise lacking in their lives.

Residential treatment may be useful if 1) someone has attempted to make change and cannot seem to maintain it in their normal environment and 2) this individual freely chooses to attend residential treatment. However, even if the individual will be returning to a different environment upon discharge from residential treatment, outpatient treatment will still be needed. Anyone can abstain in a residential treatment facility. Being there only postpones dealing with the real problem, which is how to live (and abstain) in the real world.

Consequently, unless it is obvious that getting the addicted individual into a secure environment needs to happen immediately, start with outpatient treatment. If residential treatment does occur, a 28 day or 30 day stay may not be needed. Unfortunately, most facilities are not flexible about length of stay. On the other hand, if one or several month-long stays have not worked, 90 days or more may be worth considering.

There are many benefits to outpatient treatment. It is the treatment of choice for most individuals. There is no problem about what happens when the individual returns home. Outpatient treatment is often much less expensive (especially considering that your insurance may pay for some of it). If change is not happening quickly enough (or not happening at all) residential treatment can be the backup plan.

The push for residential treatment often comes from the family, which is desperate for relief (“just get him out of here and safe, so life can be better for awhile!”). In these situations, however, the individual may often have great resistance to residential (“I don’t need that, I can do this on my own. And I can’t afford to be away that long”). If discussion about treatment arises because of a family confrontation, the family response can be that as long as there is (progress, abstinence, successful moderation, etc.), the family will not insist on residential treatment.

from Alice Campbell

It was meant to be a good drug. Xanaz, a type of benzo, is normally prescribed by doctors to help ease psychological problems of their patients, including depression and anxiety. However, recent studies revealed that it can also be habit-forming, which means a chronic user of the drug can develop addiction to it. If you know of anyone who is suffering from this type of addiction, perhaps the best option is to let him undergo a Xanax addiction treatment in a Florida Xanax rehab. It may not be as serious as heroin and cocaine; but it can still be destructive, affecting the mind and body of the sufferer.

The Alarming Rise of Xanax Addicts

For the span of time that the drug has been introduced into the market, Xanax is already one of the most common abused prescriptions. In fact, it is a little bit close to Valium. Moreover, for the past 7 years, there’s a huge rise of more than 40 percent of users that have been brought to health care facilities for Xanax addiction treatment. This means that it would not take long before there will be a lot of sufferers who will finally succumb to it, and that the numbers will just keep on rising, unless a Xanax addiction treatment is sought.

Effects of Xanax

A Xanax addiction treatment may be dependent on how long and how much the user has been exposed to the drug. Normally, if the person has been taking Xanax at very low doses, most of the side effects may include drowsiness, fatigue, headache, nausea, anxiety, and too much sweating. However, the effects become more severe the more that the person becomes addicted to it. Not only will be exhibiting these physical manifestations, but he may also start to have problems in his psychomotor skills. For one, he may no longer remember a lot of details anymore and will suffer from poor concentration. Moreover, he may have some difficulty in speaking. He will also be experiencing a sudden drop of weight, constipation, and worse seizures.

Seeking a Florida Xanax Rehab

A very good option for Xanax addiction treatment is a Florida Xanax rehab. These types of facilities will provide the necessary medical and psychological help in order to combat his addiction, most notably during withdrawal.

When in the process of detoxification, a Florida Xanax rehab has doctors and the medical equipment to ensure that the withdrawal will not be too difficult for the sufferer. It is also very important that someone will be keeping an eye on the sufferer since this is also the time when the urges to go back to the addiction will start to rise, and he will surely be doing things at great length to make sure that he can satisfy his pangs.

A Florida Xanax rehab can also go to the root cause of the addiction, which is normally anxiety and depression. Usually, once these causes can be eliminated into the system during the Xanax addiction treatment, the user will no longer have any reason to take the drug, more so get addicted to it.

It’s the same old story, yet another celebrity has entered rehab, again, or been arrested, again. Lindsey Lohan, the Olsen twins, Amy Winehouse, Brittney Spears, the list is endless. It seems a day doesn’t go by without at least one celebrity getting arrested for drug or alcohol abuse, or entering treatment for the umpteenth time. It seems addiction and entertainment have become intertwined. But you know better. You know addiction is no laughing matter and it’s more than just another headline to you. When addiction hits home, when the ugliness of drug or alcohol abuse become personal, you need real answers and real solutions, not just another empty promise.

A popular and common method of Addiction Treatment is to use drugs to combat drugs. Basically, in a medically supervised setting, clinical staff use a variety of drug therapies to combat the effects of withdrawal. But there is another approach, a more natural, highly effective approach that cleanses the system of drug residues while offering a step-by-step system for learning positive behaviors, replacing negative, addictive patterns with positive, life-changing techniques, which arm the recovering addict with the knowledge and certainty to lead a happy, addiction-free life.

The key is a holistic Drug Addiction program that addresses the whole person, including the reasons, thought processes and methods of addiction, not just the chemical dependency. The Narconon program does exactly that. Through the program, the substance abuser undergoes a holistic detoxification process and learns to communicate effectively with others, defining a set of personal ethical standards to become a responsible and contributing member of the community. If that sounds like a tall order, it is. And it’s not an easy road. But the Narconon program has met with success time and again.

The program starts out with detoxification in a social setting where participants, called “students,” take part in a non-medical, drug-free program of prescribed exercise, sauna and vitamin and mineral supplements. This first step serves to remove the student from the negative environments that encourage substance abuse, discontinue use of alcohol and other drugs, and begin the process of ridding their bodies of all toxic drug and alcohol residues. Students are closely monitored throughout the process and staff members keep track of withdrawal symptoms, vital signs and even hours of sleep and food and fluid intake. The staff offers techniques to improve comfort, reduce symptoms and increase awareness. Students don’t move on to the rest of the program until they are free of physical symptoms of acute withdrawal.

Once the detox process is complete, students move into a series of classes designed to examine the old behaviors, thought processes and lifestyle choices that led to addiction. In the process, students learn new ways of thinking and living, with a focus on personal responsibility as each student takes an active part in drafting their own recovery plan. This is not a one-size-fits-all Drug Addiction Treatment. Instead, the Narconon program is highly personal, with staff members working with students through group and individual activities. Students work through a series of “courses” which teach important life skills, and encourage the students to create their own set of values and ethics based on social “norms.”

The Drug Rehab program doesn’t stop there, since the focus is on effective and addiction-free reentry to society. The reentry plan is a therapeutic contract that specifies strategies that will be applied by the student once he returns to society. The first step of the reentry program is an assessment of the student’s participation in the detox and life course processes. Next, the focus is on involving family and loved ones, establishing healthy relationships. Third in this Dynamic Assessment is helping the student evaluate and understand the availability of drug-free individuals in their community, as well as resources for drug-free groups, further establishing healthy, addiction-free social behaviors. This is also the stage where work experience, skills and assessments of vocational abilities are done and an action plan created for seeking further training if needed, and ultimately, employment. Next, students make plans to engage in volunteer work and finally the plan addresses housing, transportation and financial needs.

When the graduate leaves the Narconon center, they are fully prepared to enter their new life, addiction free. But the care doesn’t stop there. Staff members from the Department of Success follow up on a regular basis, ensuring the graduate has continued support. Should the graduate not move successfully into their new life, the staff is there to help, addressing each situation on an individual basis. In serious cases, the graduate is encouraged to return to the center to work through the difficulties.

With the Narconon program, you aren’t going to find a cookie-cutter answer to addiction treatment. Instead you will find the most effective drug rehab program in the world, with a program that saves lives, doesn’t kick their participants out if they aren’t “cured” in 28 days, doesn’t replace one addiction with another, but instead treats the whole person, body mind and soul in a non-sectarian, non-judgmental environment. The end result? Graduates who have successfully achieved the stated goal of the Narconon program: A drug free individual contributing to society and leading a happy, drug-free life.

from Mark M Morris

Drug addiction is a rising menace which surfaced in the olden times. Ever since drug addiction started to rise, especially after the “hippie revolution”, the deterioration of physical as well as mental health saw no boundaries. This led to drug addiction being considered as an international health crisis. While drug addictions can be grouped into various categories, the main abuses which drug addicts are habitual of administering include smoke related drugs, alcohols and banned substances which can either be chewed or directly injected into the bloodstream of the individual. Let us now discuss 4 ways to cure these patients through drug addiction help.

Take Baby Steps While Curing A Patient

Drug addiction treatment is a methodical procedure which needs to be followed step by step. Whenever you happen to try and aid a drug addict, you need to ensure that you do not do so with haste. This is so as drug addiction treatment calls for slow steps towards success and it is therefore a steady procedure. For example, if a person is a known drug addict and he is used to smoking fifteen cigarettes a day, you need to ensure that he reduces the number to three cigarettes by the end of the month. Once again, the process needs to be slow and restructured at the end of each week. In case you ask the patient to quit smoking drugs from the first day itself, his/her body would not be able to bear the strain and this in turn would lead to serious complications.

Drug Addiction Rehab Is Not A Permanent Solution

While most people are under the impression that drug addiction can be treated through the means of a drug addiction rehab, the truth is that a rehab center can only provide a temporary relief to your problems. There is no doubt that the patient would never be allowed to either smoke or drink while he/she is inside the rehab center, the moment he/she steps out, he/she would be back to his/her normal habits. Drug addiction help through the means of a rehab center is not permanent. It is like a jail which keeps a convict under control for a specified time period. After the period is over, the convict is back doing what he does best-committing crimes.

Friends And Family Play An Important Role

Drug addiction help can be provided through the means of friends and family members. In case you happen to have a drug addiction case in your family, it is your responsibility to get the patient back on track. Addiction to drugs is a bad habit which needs to be dropped through an able councilor. While there are various councilors available in the market, most of them are very expensive and obviously, they do not have a lot of time to spare on a single case. This is when the role of a family comes into picture. If you wish to cure a patient of his addiction to drugs, you need to be able to make sure that you convince the patient’s friends and family to take an active interest in the process.

A Natural Therapy Is Always The Best Cure

Drug abuse addictions are a very serious problem and if you wish to permanently cure a patient, you need to pay adequate attention towards the choice of the de-addiction therapy. While there are many traditional therapies which do not work well as they are temporary in nature, there are others which are considered permanent. They are natural therapies which work on the mindset of the patient. Once the patient’s mindset is changed, he/she can take control of his life without any external assistance. If you wish to end drug abuse addictions permanently, you need to adopt a natural therapy.
